Feb 7, Kathmandu : UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has proposed to form election government under the leadership of incumbent Chief Justice.
The party’s seventh general convention has already endorsed Prachanda’s proposal and political report with a slight amendment. Prachanda who had announced to bring ‘new formula’ for political consensus floated the proposal in today’s closed session.
He also defended the Bilateral Investment Protection and Promotion Agreement (BIPPA) signed by Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai during his India visit and added that it was a right agreement for the country.
During the session, Dahal said 12-point agreement was signed in a rush and added that the party was compelled to strike deal with the parliamentary parties after their plan to capture state from People’s war failed. According to party Spokesperson Agni Sapkota, the session has decided to form a seven-member election committee.
